Glen Arbor

Welcome to Glen Arbor

Glen Arbor is nestled on scenic M22 in the heart of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Adjacent to the Glen Lakes and the incomparable Sleeping Bear Bay, Glen Arbor is surrounded on three sides by parkland and is a haven for outdoor adventures in all seasons and for all ages.

Featured by Conde Nast Traveler in 2021 and again in 2023, Northern Michigan and the National Park in particular draw visitors from all over the world. Historical destinations, numerous hiking trails, beaches, rivers, and campsites stun even the most experienced traveler. “Park your car and use your bike to get around!” - the Sleeping Bear Dunes Heritage Trail is a great way to make the most of your first visit to the area. Spanning nearly 27 miles, this scenic trail winds from Good Harbor and Little Traverse Lake, through the Glen Arbor area, finishing near Empire and the Benzie County line. With trailheads at Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, the Dune Climb, Glen Haven, Alligator Hill, Crystal River, and Port Oneida, this is an easy, accessible trail - a must-see for any visitor to the area!

Downtown Glen Arbor is well-loved for boutique shops, galleries, and recreational rentals, in addition to ice cream parlors, wineries, and restaurants. Cherry Republic is an afternoon destination in itself and Art’s Tavern is a true Glen Arbor staple for great smelt and excellent burgers. Blu on the Bay will satisfy the most discerning diners while Burdickville’s La Bescasse and Funistrada offer classic French and Italian cuisine in charming, rustic settings.

Glen Lake Community Schools also draw people to this area. This excellent k-12 program is a U.S. News and World Report Silver Medal School and has a broad athletics program that offers typical mainstay sports found throughout the County, in addition to popular athletics like football and downhill skiing which are harder to come by in this area.

The Glen Arbor area offers prospective property owners many options, including single-family residences in both private homeowner’s associations as well as other non-organized communities. Fractional ownership opportunities are also available and are popular with individuals seeking a foothold in Leelanau without the burden of 100 percent homeownership. Condominiums at the Homestead Resort and Le Bear are often available in this way and, in some cases, owners can benefit by using their properties as profitable short-term rentals. Demand for property along the Lake Michigan and Glen Lake shorelines has increased substantially over the years, making lakeshore properties in this area some of the most exclusive listings in the County.
